Pullback seasons are not a sign of failure. They are a vital part of the process for those that God uses to break ground for the kingdom.
It’s like when Jesus would go up the mountain to pray, spending time with the Father. He would then come down, carrying the very power and messages He received in those moments, walking in signs, wonders, and miracles.
If we are always going, always pouring out, living in a constant state of high-intensity kingdom work, we will burn out.
We are people with souls, bodies, minds, and emotions, and if any one of these is neglected or left empty, we will begin to crumble.
God does not want you to crumble.
That is why He purposefully leads you into seasons of pause, or hiddenness, of being set apart so that He can refuel and replenish you once again.
In 2024, God has called many of us up the mountain, but some have struggled to break free from the relentless pressure to keep pouring out.
And today, I have a word for those who are feeling the tension in this pullback, for those feeling frustrated, disillusioned, or discouraged.
Maybe you’ve been wondering if something is wrong with you. But hear this: there is nothing wrong with you.
Jesus didn’t launch His ministry until He was 33!
Think of a bow and arrow—the further back the bow is pulled, the greater the velocity and power with which the arrow will hit its target.
Sometimes we don’t understand why God draws us into these seasons of pause, seasons where we’re hidden and we’re not seeing the fruit we saw in past seasons.
It’s not because He’s removed Himself from you. It’s not because you’ve lost your anointing. You’re in a pullback season, being prepared for something new.
If you resist the pullback, if you push against His leading, it will only drive you further into burnout. Or worse, you’ll step into a new season carrying last season’s mindset and baggage, unprepared for what’s to come.
Yes, the trauma has to go. The wounded was is being ministered to like a weary traveler depleted of nutrients.
Many of you are in a pullback because God needs to recalibrate you—emotionally, mentally, physically, and even locationally.
This is a moment of redirection.
God is pulling you into this season to strip away distractions, to deliver you from what no longer serves you, so that He can realign you in every part of your life, preparing you to be launched into what’s next.
So, no, you haven’t lost your voice. You haven’t lost yourself.
In fact, God has led you into this because you were beginning to lose yourself. You were beginning to lose your voice.
And now He is reviving you, recalibrating you, resetting you, refueling you for what’s to come.
Fresh vision is already being downloaded to your spirit.
God is removing the blinders that have clouded your view, giving you eyes to see and ears to hear for a new day.
Embrace the pullback. Embrace His purpose in it because a new day and assignment will come soon enough and instead of tired you will be ready.
