Let me give you some language for this moment;
We are unlearning so much right now.
We are unlearning that we are powerless.
We are unlearning that we are in a war where we mostly lose.
We are unlearning hope deferred and broken promises.
We are unlearning that we are small and the enemy is more than we can handle.
We are unlearning that we don't deserve more than to be treated poorly.
We are unlearning that we are victims.
We are unlearning that we only deserve scraps from under the table.
We are unlearning the poison and propaganda of culture that has drugged us into submission and divided us.
We are unlearning the lie that we aren't meant to stand up for what we believe in.
We are unlearning to sacrifice our kids on the altar of ministry.
We are unlearning the lies of counterfeit covering and accountability that has kept us in bondage.
We are unlearning competition and jealousy that has us in the battle of brands and thwarts unity.
We are unlearning to build empires instead of family.
We are unlearning that charisma alone is a poor standard for choosing leaders.
We are unlearning celebrity culture that has only disempowered the other 99%.
I know it looks like you are unraveling, but God is actually just untangling you from everything that has been tainting your anointing, confusing your calling, and leading you astray.
"My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge" - Hosea 4:6a
I know it's been a painful process watching as foundational and core areas of your belief system are falling apart as God exposes the manufactured.
It feels like a midlife crisis of spiritual proportions, but it's not a breakdown but a breaking of the concrete that has been around your feet.
We are unlearning busy and hustle that has disabled us from the power of rest and being single in mind (Matthew 6:33)
We are unlearning how to fight spiritual battles that weren't meant for us to fight, and we are learning to ascend.
Yes, we are learning how to go up the mountain again.
We are unlearning egotistical leadership and hierarchical systems and becoming a family again.
We are unlearning how to do kingdom while tolerating Jezebel.
We are unlearning religious lies about who we are.
We are unlearning religious lies about what we are here to do.
We are unlearning demonic submission and silence in the name of false honor.
We are unlearning how to build our own kingdoms and learning to build God's.
That's why there can be no experts right now - it's a level playing field because we haven't been this way before.
We are all novices again.
We are in the age of the great humbling and the great reset.
Ministries have to come back to basics or crumble on the altar of their own ambition.
When Saul encountered Jesus on the road to Damascus, a process of profound and absolute unlearning set in motion, to the point that he even had his name changed.
What if the church was in that same place right now?
What if the church globally was on the road to a Damascus moment because we have been kicking against the goads and calling it kingdom?
What if the church has been resisting the move of the spirit and calling it wise?
We have to unlearn that right now because we have become so wise in our own standards that we are no longer following the spirit.
What if God is leading us into a season of deep repentance and trajectory change to the degree that we will never be the same in the years to come?
We are going from Saul to Paul.
Because where we are going, to birth Isaac, we need to be Sarah, not Sarai, and Abraham, not Abram.
And our Ishmaels and ambition-induced hustle is no longer conducive to where God wants us to go.
But who will speak this out? Who will be the mouthpieces in a time of change?
It's a moment where we have to choose to either enable and keep beating the dead horse of current church methods or begin to unveil what we are meant to become.
But the latter will be unpopular.
I know you have felt the pull.
It's why you have lost your zeal for the old show and all her trophies.
It's why you see the current episode as the facade or sideshow that it really is.
The glory has departed, and we have to unlearn how to idolize the structure when it no longer carries the oil it once did.
Unravel, unravel, unravel church!
Who you really are is emerging.
Come out of the cave, Lazarus.
Remove the scales from your eyes because a new day is dawning.
Where you have been looks nothing like where you are going.
What you have walked through and endured is just a part of your story, for there's a new chapter before us.
A chapter where we won't walk through the mess we have walked through in the past.
It is a chapter where we walk out of the traps, pitfalls, and mindsets that held us in bondage, and we become the captives set free to set others free.
We are not only unlearning, but we are BECOMING.
We are not only healing from the deformities of a disabled era, but we are coming for the pure and spotless bride that Jesus died for.
So surrender to this moment because it's more powerful and delivering than you can comprehend right now.
And it's legacy…
