I heard these words resounding in my spirit yesterday afternoon as I was praying, “it’s a grasshopper. The giant you see before you is nothing more than a grasshopper.” I then saw a picture of many of you who are dealing with giants right now and I knew these words were for you. I saw you standing before what appeared to look like a big menacing giant and it felt impossible to overcome. I saw this giant had the appearance of illness, financial debt and lack, family issues, fear, addiction, worry and doubt. I heard the Father say, “strengthen yourself mighty ones. Remind yourself who you are and who is on the inside of you.” I saw you pick up your sword, even in weariness, and as you picked up the Word of God, you were supernaturally empowered, strengthened and you began to grow in stature as you wielded the weapon of the Word. Many of you have felt trapped into a corner with this giant, you have been looking all around you and feeling as though there is no way out. I believe the Father prompted me to write this word for you today. You are not backed into a corner, don’t believe the intimidating lies from this giant for one second that there is no way out, Jesus is your way out.
I saw you grow rapidly in height as you strengthened yourself in the Lord, until you outgrew the giant itself. As you continued to speak and declare who you are and the might and power of the King of Kings who is on the inside of you, you grew so large that the giant itself became as small as a grasshopper in comparison to your stature. This vision reminds me of a story I am sure you are familiar with, the story of the twelve spies in Exodus. I was led to look up the names of twelve spies and found the account of their names, their fathers and the tribes that they were all from. I studied the meanings of each and every one of their names and discovered a powerful hidden message, concealed within their Hebrew meanings, and I believe it is a message from the Father to those of you facing giants right now. You can find the account of their names in Numbers 13:4-15. I added in simple connotations to connect the dots with the meanings, however, these meanings are written in the order in which they were listed in scripture. Hear the Word of the Father to you today:
(meanings have been taken from their original Hebrew definitions via Strong Concordance.)
“Hear, remember, be mindful, for behold, a son, a Governor has come to you. He has judged and is burning for His servant to hear with acceptance His message. He will turn to you and face those who praise Him. He has redeemed the defiled and He will add salvation to His posterity. He will give you two-fold increase, causing you double fruitfulness in the place of your exhaustion and ashes, for He is your deliverance and your healer. When the Son of the right hand is the Lord your happiness, your secret dwelling place and habitation, He becomes the people of God’s fortune. He cuts, invades and swiftly exposes the horseman, causing you to forget your pain. He invests in those who hide themselves in Him and Governs and destroys anything that comes against them. Who is like God? Those who are hidden in the secret place are happy, rich in His abundance, free from their struggle, strife and poverty and are filled with His abundant fortune."
I want you to take note of something significant in this message. Out of the twelve spies who went in to scout out the land that God had promised them, ten of those had forgotten the very message that was written upon them. They had forgotten their identity, their DNA as sons of the most of High God. They had forgotten to hear, and remember and be mindful of the Son of the right hand. They had allowed the opposition they faced to be bigger than the King who was on the inside of them, the King who had gone before them and prepared the way for them. They had forgotten His power and His strength, and as a result, rather than seeing the giants that stood before them as grasshoppers, they considered themselves to be the grasshoppers. The message in their names, which they would have been well aware of, spoke of the greatness of their God, while simultaneously reminding them to hear and remember who He was and what He had done for them. Only Joshua and Caleb remembered who God was and who He was IN them and were able to see clearly.
You are not a grasshopper, my friend. You are a giant killer. You are the new breed that has come from the new-birth out of the side and resurrection of Jesus. I find it amazing that John the Baptist, who was the last of the Old Covenant prophets, ATE grasshoppers (locusts) for nutrition. You need to remember today, that if John, who is considered the LEAST among those of us in this new covenant, ATE giants for sustenance, how much MORE so should you and I be stepping into the reality of WHO we really are as sons and daughters of the Most High God and DEVOURING the enemy before us. Remind yourself today of who you are… strengthen yourself in the Lord and GO EAT some grasshoppers! What has stood menacingly before you will become your sustenance. For the Lord has prepared the way for you, He is MIGHTY to save and MIGHTY to deliver. Run into the secret place and you will find the strength you need and you will grow in stature and overcome everything that stands in your way. It's time to EAT some giants ;)
“Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” — 1 John 4:4
