As Christy and I were praying last night I saw a vision of a fleet of ships trying to set sail but they were stuck in harbor. Maybe many of you have felt that way lately. Like you are packed with all right ingredients to embark in a particular direction with a dream you have been wanting to birth and see manifest for a long time now. But as you have pushed off from the shore you discovered the momentum isn’t there. There is no wind to catch your sails to take you where you need to go. It can be frustrating and confusing, and after much time passes sitting at the shore desperately wanting to go without any change, you can fall into despair.
Have you felt this at all lately in any area of your life?
I was drawn to 2 Chronicles 20 where it speaks of the life of Jehoshaphat who in his lifetime witnessed God saved the nation from the alliance of many army’s that came against them. Towards the end of his life it says that King Jehoshaphat made an alliance with King Ahaziah that God didn’t authorise him to make. These two kings made an alliance to do a business deal to construct a fleet of ships. The prophet Eliezer prophesied his error and said that God would destroy the ships. The last verse of this chapter says that the ships were destroyed and were never able to sail.
After reading this I felt the Lord saying that the enemy has been trying to convince many people that God has forgotten them so they will take matters into their own hands to push down doors and move ahead without him. The temptation in disappointment can be to make an alliance with “LESS THAN” God has ordained for us.
That means choosing second best Instead of continuing to press on and believe for what He promised. It means abandoning your dreams to make something else happen that seems more possible or doable in your own strength.
We want to encourage you this week to have the conversation with Holy Spirit about the areas you have felt like things haven’t moved forward and allow Him to take the disappointment and replace it with a fresh HOPE. I believe we are in an hour God is breathing upon areas of hearts that have been hurting due to dreams not taking flight and right now he is rejuvenating and causing the dreamless to dreams again!
We pray that you would find that this week all of the weariness and emotional fatigue would lift off and you will begin to dream again and discover your sails begin to fill with a new wind, a new strength, and new JOY for the adventure ahead in Jesus name!
Love Nate & Christy
