“LET GO & LET’S GO!” I heard the lord say during worship yesterday and I knew God wanted me to share what I believe is a powerful anointing at work as we step into 2020.
THE “EKBALLO” ANOINTING VIOLENTLY CONFRONTING WHAT IS TRYING TO FOLLOW YOU INTO THE NEW YEAR
“Ekballo!” I heard the Lord say as I slept one night, and I woke up. I went back to sleep and m I heard it again “Ekballo!” and my spirit leaped and I woke up knowing God was wanting to speak to me about this mysterious word.
Ekballo is a Greek word used many times in the New Testament and means; to cast out, drive out, to send out, to command or cause one to depart, to be sent forth, to draw out with force, tear out, to move forward towards the goal, to reject with contempt, to cast off or away, to draw out, extract, one thing inserted in another, to bring out of, to draw or bring forth.
When I woke up the next morning I instantly saw the connection to the deliverance and healing dreams I had earlier in December and knew this was a power-packed prophetic moment for the church to step into an hour we haven’t quite anticipated. The Holy Spirit is unleashing an “ekballo” anointing right now that is violently confronting what is trying to subtly sneak into your new year and rob you of energy, focus, vision, joy, and time. It’s a no-nonsense anointing that is exposing the fears, lies, and inferior ways of thinking that have tripped us up for so long.
WE ARE AT AN EXCHANGE POINT
A few nights later I had a dream and saw two scenes play out before me.
In the first scene, I saw a tired and weary lady who was carrying luggage and boxes on a cart up a hill. She looked so exhausted and I wanted to help her. As she reached the top I heard again “Ekballo!” and the woman let go of her cart and it rolled down the hill and overturned.
I believe this woman carrying the luggage and boxes in my dream represents those carrying baggage from this past season who are run down, worn out, and completely exhausted by what they have been carrying. The season we have been through was not only one of the greatest warfare seasons we have experienced but also painful.
In Mark 1:39 there is an interesting use of the word “ekballo”;
“So he(Jesus)went throughout the region of Galilee, preaching in the Jewish synagogues and casting out (ekballo) demons” Mark 1:39
This is a confronting way of looking at baggage, pain, trauma, bitterness, and damaging mindsets we all deal with but I believe right now God wants us to see them in the same light because much of what you have endured and even become accustomed to living with and putting up with, God is wanting to radically and FORCEFULLY remove from your life. But it does take action on your and my behalf in partnering with God to LET GO of what we have been holding. We are at an exchange point where if we are to truly embrace what is waiting for us we need to intentionally CAST OFF, cast out, reject, break-off, renounce, and part ways with what we have been carrying with us for too long.
IS THIS WHAT FREEDOM FEELS LIKE?
In the second scene, I saw this same woman in an airline check-in line in holding a ticket in her hand but this time with a big smile on her face. She looked fresh and ready for adventure. Then again I heard this word loudly “Ekballo!”
I believe this scene from my dream represents the season God has intended for all of us to step into. He doesn’t want us stuck in the valley of pain, trauma, and stuck in the endless cycles of victimhood any longer. What is on His heart for you? He wants you FREE, he wants you WHOLE! He wants you you to let go of yesterday and everything you have walked through. You don’t need it to validate your hard season because your identity is NOT as a victim. That is not who you are anymore! It’s time to let go and grab that ticket God is giving you - that opportunity to finally move on with your life and experience what this new era has for you. Many will say "Is this what freedom feels like? I have been bound up for so long I never imagined I would experience this!" but in a moment you will find yourself holding your ticket to finally move on with your life.
Another passage in the bible using the word “ekballo” is found in Matthew 9:38;
“As you go, plead with the Owner of the Harvest to thrust out (ekballo) many more reapers to harvest his grain!”
The same “Ekballo” anointing that unchains you, frees you, delivers you, and extracts the poison and pain of the past season is the same anointing that is going to LAUNCH you, SEND you, and CATAPULT you into your new adventure with the Holy Spirit.
THIS IS NOT THE END OF THE ROAD, JUST THE END TO A WAY OF LIFE
Can’t you see? This is not the end, this is not your undoing, this is not the end of the road, the place it all comes undone and you fall apart - THIS is the moment God sets you COMPLETELY FREE and commissions you afresh. This is the moment you can let go of your past luggage, your old shoes, jacket you wore through the long valley season and you can allow God to mantle you afresh and SEND you into the earth. Your letting go is your commissioning!
Over the next few days leading up to 2020 pay attention to what the Holy Spirit is wanting to address for you to let go of. Don’t be overwhelmed because this is not in your own strength. When I asked the Lord how to see this I saw a vision of myself and I had my arms raised in surrender and I was walking under a large waterfall. The force and velocity of the water were intense to look at but the moment I stepped into it I felt the peace and presence of God flood me and it was so cleansing. This is not just the letting go of a few areas of pain for some but a whole grid and blueprint for living. There’s a FLOOD of God's peace and comfort washing over you that will reset even the way you are seeing and thinking. God is rewiring you for the year and decade ahead where you are coming out of that place you have grown used to.
So as a prophetic act place your hand on your heart and pray this with me, “Holy Spirit Ekballo me by your power. I cast off all this baggage and renounce the way I have been living and thinking because it is no longer conducive for where you are taking me in Jesus' name. Now place your hand on your belly and pray “Holy Spirit Ekballo me into the fullness of my calling this coming year. Don’t let me settle for second best and don’t let me get so caught up in the drama of me that I lose sight of what you are sending me to. Fill me afresh and give me eyes to see you and a hunger to want you above all else, in Jesus' name! Now I LET go, and say “Yes Lord LET’S GO!”
