ARE YOU FEELING FRAGMENTED?
In a vision the Lord showed me a full body x-ray and as looked at the person closer I noticed that the heart and head were both broken like a cracked and broken glass window.
Then as I began to understand what I was seeing I heard “THEY ARE FRAGMENTED”
Fragmented means to be broken up into several disconnected parts.
Then I began to receive this download from the Lord;
We are in a new beginning of a new chapter and many have shifted into new alignments and assignments.
While there is the fresh sense of embarking in something new and that’s exciting many also feel like something is missing but they can’t understand exactly what that is.
There’s a disconnect or a sense of sorrow that doesn’t make any sense.
There’s a hesitation or something holding them back from fully committing or giving their whole heart and focus to the new season, and they don’t know why.
It’s the feeling that your spirit is a hundred miles ahead but your heart and mind 50 miles behind.
You have fresh vision and the blueprint ready to rock and roll, but you are lacking in the passion and motivation you used to have.
You have finally started to find the right tribe and people with the same DNA but if you are honest with yourself you can discern that something is not quite right.
So what is it? The Lord led me to this scripture in 1 Corinthians 1:13; “Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptized in the name of Paul?”
The word “divided” here means apportioned and disunited.
Many have stepped into this new season still carrying the broken pieces of old seasons, movements, assignments, and relationships and alignments.
Like my vision I saw both the heart and the head, so let me break both down.
The shard fragments of the heart are the disappointment, unmet expectations, hope deferred, hurt, betrayal, weariness, and relational pain.
The shard fragments of the mind are systems, methods, mindsets, and ways of thinking that feel disconnected transitioning season to season and environment to environment.
Carrying these shards means we will be unable to see the season through fresh eyes but instead will only be able to see through the filter of broken seasons.
I believe God led me to the passage above because God is highlighting a common trend and error we often make when shifting new seasons, and roles, but especially shifting companies or alignments.
We demonize and dismiss what we have left and we idolize and elevate what we have come into, and in doing so create yet another fragment and broken shard when under CHRIST as our head (not a leader) we are made whole.
And let me make this clear - God wants us whole. Not the shard collectors we have been over the years as we have navigated broken systems and Christian environments and only further experienced deep heart and mind shattering disillusionment.
We can’t keep compartmentalizing our journey and in doing so becoming a pilgrim wearing ten different conference hats, plastic arm bands, mission trip t shirts, and speaking a strange dialect of the regurgitated cliches from 20 different streams.
It’s killing your soul. But even more, it’s keeping you stationary.
Now am I saying it’s bad to have been around and through many different movements? No, I have too, but the question is…
“What are you doing with the broken pieces of your last season?”
Is the new thing your rebound where you just offload your trauma onto in hopes it heals you? Is your new assignment really your new assignment or is it your hustle car constructed from the pieces of what didn’t happen for you in the last 15 years?
Do you keep swaying like a pendulum between honoring and respecting a leader/father/mother in your life and suspecting they are out to get you?
Do you keep jumping back and forth between incredible excitement and fearing a repeated shipwreck?
Do you keep jumping between racing ahead and retreating into indecision?
It’s time to COME OUT from under the idolization of Paul and Apollos and come under the Lordship of Christ.
As I’m writing this I’m seeing the Lord do what you have been longing for - to mend the broken pieces and make you WHOLE!
It’s time to surrender your shards and watch God do it.
If this is you, the HOW is simple as this;
- Ask Holy Spirit to show you the shards/fragments
- Give them to Him and ask Him to restore you and deliver you from any demonic strongholds attached.
- Repent for idolizing people, titles, and movements above Him.
- Come into Lordship with Jesus by praying “Jesus you are the Lord of my life and no other”
- Break and sever all ties to the past seasons places and people.
- Forgive those who have hurt you.
- Release the hope deferred you are carrying.
- Ask for a fresh baptism of the Holy Ghost and fire and a revelation of the one body and unified church emerging in this hour.
Now leave that old sack of broken glass behind, the victim mindset, and your identity you have had wrapped up around it, and step into your new day!
